A few of our tracks from Trailer Tools (Volume 3) have featured on the Danish reality TV show Robinson Ekspeditionen. Denmark’s version of the popular Survivor franchise consists of an isolated Malaysian Island, an eager bunch of castaways and a raft of humiliating tasks for them to complete. You know the format!

On other news, we have just finished two more iPhone Game projects, Trampleona and Wordswipe, which will be available from the iTunes App Store soon. We’re also working on some new album projects with some exciting Hollywood publishers. More on that later…

Verbal Vigilante recently completed work on 4 albums for Trailer Music Production Library Gothic Storm. Gothic Storm is the brainchild of composer Dan Graham with US licensing through Hollywood publisher PSI Records. Verbal Vigilante Feature on the albums Huge Percussion, Vast Spacial Drones, Intense Risers and Slams. We composed over 20 tracks for the albums, some of which you can hear in our audio player. The albums are due for realease in March, so batten down the hatches – There’s a Storm brewing!!

Rubble Muddle Music

Here’s a snippet of the music we composed for GlobiGames’ latest iPhone game Rubble Muddle. This project was a real blast! We’re currently working with Globi on more of their upcoming games.

Rubble Muddle is a brand new game of explosive fun and agility. Game-play is a highly innovative twist on the classic 2D matrix puzzle where in Rubble Muddle, you have to detonate rocks and bag the jewels to collect points in ever changing heaps of rocks and valuable jewels. That unique concept makes Rubble Muddle stand out as being one of the most compelling puzzle games yet to be released in 2010.
Your score increases as you explode rocks and bag more and more precious jewels as the rubble relentlessly piles down. The aim of each level is to dynamite your way through all the rocks in a limited time and collect as many jewel points as possible. It’s done by touching blocks of the same type then blowing them up with a second hit. Blocks must consist of more than one of the same type for them to be removed. If enough rubble is cleared and you have collected a booty of jewels before time runs out, a tunnel door opens to let you tackle the next level.

You don’t have to go to the Klondike to become an experienced video miner. In Rubble Muddle you can skilfully move the rocks into bigger groups before blasting them for maximum points. As you move up the difficulty setting, your strategic thinking and visual reaction is tested to the extreme.

Verbal Vigilante feature on PPMusic’s new album release Trailer Tools Volume 3.

Trailers Tools (Volume 3) features 150 new risers, swooshes, slams, stabs, atmospheres and drones. Verbal Vigilante recently signed up to score a new british feature called Bar Stewards.

The latest offering from Pleased Sheep Films is a raucous and surreal comedy about two best friends, Layton Peebles and  the dysfunctional Jamie Cuntilever. Layton is heartbroken and Jamie wants to get laid. Then Layton discovers he has a mysterious stalker who claims to be Stephen Hawking…

It’s great to be working with director Michael Booth and the Pleased Sheep team. We’re thrilled to be scoring this their second feature length project.

VVMusic have been commissioned to write the soundtrack for the 2009 Bradford Animation Festival. We are currently working with a team of UK animators to create the stings that will run throughout the festival and awards ceremony in November.

BAF09 will be the 16th edition of the UK’s biggest and longest-running animation festival. Host to screentalks, workshops and special events led by the industry’s top names, the festival’s high point is the annual BAF Awards, which celebrate the very best in new animation from around the world.

We are currently in the process of writing an album of production music with publishers PPMusic. PPMusic license music to the Hollywood film industry, specialising in film trailer soundtracks. If you’ve been to the cinema in the last year, you’ll have heard their music on trailers for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Star Trek, Transformers 2, Valkyrie and Drag Me to Hell to name but a few.

The album should be ready for release soon and we will keep you posted.

The Fishdance Kid has been included in the official selection for this years London Independent Film Festival. The short was directed by Vanessa Caswill and shot on the backlot at Pinewood Studios. We recorded the soundtrack at our studio last year with good friend and slide guitarist, Sam Moore. Mixed with strings and a dash of native American flute, Ennio Morricone fans are well catered for here.

The Roxy, the Coronet, and the Curzon cinemas will be the hosts of the 2009 London Independent Film Festival. Stretching over 9 days in Central London, LIFF 2009 will showcase the best of indie filmmaking from the United Kingdom and around the world.

This is the second in a series of animations created by Linda McCarthy from Tiny Elephants Animation and based on Stephen Appleby’s quirky comic strip. It’s great to be working with both Linda and Stephen again on this great stop frame series.

We visited the Tiny Elephants studio recently and got to see the sets and characters up close and even got our very own porcelain “tiny elephant” of which many can be seen in the Christmas special. Stephen was recently interviewed by the Sunday Telegraph about it’s upcoming online release and we’ll post it up on our site when the dates have been finalised. Above is a still of the comfy sitting room where Hurtle the butler is overseeing the decorating of the Christmas tree by the passing stranger.

Tomorrow we have the privilege of meeting the Olivier Award winning composer and conductor Terry Davies. Terry is one of the countries greatest conductor/composers and has worked on the recent Brideshead Revisited feature film. He previously picked up a BAFTA Award nomination for his music for the TV Series, Tipping the Velvet.

“Beneath” A film by Animator and Director Kerry Drumm, features in a new book now available from many good retailers and Amazon. There is a great 14 page feature on the processes involved in making the film for the Object React section of onedotzero_10. The book covers all aspects of making the film, including the music that we composed for the project.

Written by Johnny Hardstaff and Professor Paul Wells the book is for budding and seasoned animators alike. Re-imagining Animation examines the animated film as it becomes central to moving image practices in the contemporary era.
